Visual designer Charis Tsevis has created a fitting tribute to Steve Jobs in the form of an intricate mosaic portrait composed of all types of Apple gadgets, from MacBooks to iPods to iPhones and iPads

Tsevis said he began working on this portrait when Jobs retired due to illness earlier this year. He unveiled it short after Jobs’ death on Oct. 5 and it has been featured on many news websites. The portrait reminds us how the co-founder and former CEO of Apple reshaped the computing experience and changed the way we communicate, listen to music and interact online.

In one of those ironic twists of fate that prove that truth is indeed stranger than fiction, one of the current owners of Segway, Inc. was reported to have died on September 27 after driving a Segway over a cliff and falling 30 feet into the River Wharfe in West Yorkshire, U.K. Jimi Heselden, a British millionaire, was part of a group that purchased Segway in early 2010.

Since their introduction in 2002, the two-wheeled upright vehicles have never quite lived up to the early buzz they generated (Steve Jobs was quoted as saying the Segway would be as big as the PC). However, Segways have gained popularity in niche markets such as police departments, corporate campuses and golf courses.

Read more about Jimi Heselden on the Daily Mail website.

Starting with the first pre-assembled Apple computers that Jobs marketed with Steve Wozniak, it can really be said that Jobs played a major role in making digital technology part of everyday life.

The iPod has revolutionized how we listen to music, and Pixar Animation Studios has shown that computer animation can be used to make amazing feature length films. Jobs had a hand in each of these innovations. Techies around the world are wishing Jobs the best and hoping he’ll soon be bringing us the next big thing.
