Next Generation MacBook Air

Thursday, June 09th, 2011

With the third generation version of the MacBook Air (MBA), Apple seems to have gotten in right. Weighing in at just 2.3 lbs with a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB of memory, the 11-inch MBA offers a lot of hardware in a small package. The longer-lasting battery provides up to 5 hours of use and perhaps best of all, the overheating problem that existed in earlier versions of the MacBook Air has been eliminated.

Many users are climbing onto the iPad 2 train, but for keyboard-intensive applications the MBA might be a better choice. Read a comparison of day-to-day use of the MacBook Air vs. the iPad 2 on the Cnet website. If you’re ready to shop, visit the Apple store.

SanDisk Sansa Fuze+

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

The SanDisk Sansa Fuze is known as a less expensive alternative to Apple’s line of digital music players. Now SanDisk has come out with a design upgrade for the Fuze. The new Sansa Fuze+ features a sleeker silhouette and larger 2.4-inch screen. Although it doesn’t include a touchscreen, it does have a new front touch panel in place of the click wheel found on earlier models (though many reviewers of the Fuze+ prefer the click wheel).

The Sansa Fuze+ also includes an FM radio, recording capability, a microSD slot and support for a wide range of digital sound formats. The Sansa Fuze+ retails for about $80. Read more about the Fuze+ at the SansaDisk website.

iPad is the New Catnip?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Apple’s new iPad supports the touch screen technology that has made the iTouch and iPhone so popular. We doubt if Apple tested the iPad on any non-human users, but here’s a YouTube video that shows the appeal of the iPad for a cat named Iggy.

Do you think its claws scratched the screen?
